Dr. Wahyu Aristyaning Putri, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Biology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). She earned her PhD in Medical Sciences from Kobe University, Japan, in 2019 with a dissertation on the association between Hepatitis B Virus quasispecies variants detected by high-throughput sequencing and the progression of advanced liver disease in Indonesian patients. She previously completed her MSc in Biology at UGM in 2014, focusing on molecular cloning of the merA gene from Streptomycetes, and her BSc in Biology at UGM in 2011, studying alternative media for nata de fruty production using Acetobacter xylinum.
Her research interests include medical virology, viral genomics, microbial biotechnology, and nutrigenomics. Dr. Putri has received a MEXT scholarship from Kobe University and actively participates in academic development, capacity-building workshops, and biomedical informatics training.
